Course description

In the StuderWIN Basic Universal (external and internal grinding) course, you will learn how to operate your newly acquired STUDER cylindrical grinding machine in accordance with its intended use and in its basic functions. Our experienced instructors will introduce you to the subject of operation and programming step by step and using a variety of learning methods. Learn how to program simple circular parts in a relaxed and professional environment, first as a computer exercise and then on a STUDER cylindrical grinding machine in the Customer Center.

Experience the joint setup of the machine for cylindrical grinding between centers and in a three-jaw chuck. You will benefit from valuable tips from our grinding professionals. The joint programming and setup is crowned by the practical grinding of a workpiece, with all the necessary basic correction and reworking functions of the STUDER cylindrical grinding machine, including “The Art of Grinding.” Additional knowledge.

Course Content

  • Programming simple workpiece programs on the PC and machine
  • Drawing and importing workpieces
  • Programming with StuderTechnology Integrated
  • Mounting an external grinding wheel and the locating centers for holding the workpieces
  • Setting up the machine (with QuickSet, if available) with an external grinding wheel and a dressing tool
  • Options for a safe approach
  • Basic corrections (workpiece, partial correction and grinding wheel contour correction)
  • Grinding a workpiece with an external grinding wheel
  • Length positioning (if available) and workpiece change
  • Supported manual mode
  • Save programs
  • Programming, setting up and grinding a workpiece with an internal grinding wheel

Target group and course requirements

  • The course is aimed at operators of STUDER cylindrical grinding machines.
  • Course participants should have a basic technical education.
  • Basic PC knowledge is essential, CNC knowledge is a great advantage.
  • Participants should already have a basic knowledge of cylindrical grinding. This can be acquired in the “The Art of Grinding” fundamentals seminar.

Objectives

  • Using the course documentation, the participant can create simple workpiece projects and set up the machine accordingly.
  • With the help of the course documentation, the participant is able to correctly apply workpiece corrections in order to grind parts within specifi ed tolerances.
  • The participant can create grinding programs with the help of the course documentation and the support of StuderTechnology, and knows the methods of applying them safely.
