Fritz Studer AG has made sustainability an integral part of its corporate philosophy and places great value on protecting people, society and the environment.

This commitment is also enshrined in the Corporate Social Responsibility Code of the UNITED GRINDING Group.

We are continuously committed to environmentally friendly and resource-saving technologies. For this reason, we have connected to the district heating network in Steffisburg in February 2023. The connection to the district heating network in Steffisburg is, among other things, an important step in our sustainability efforts and contributes to reducing environmental pollution and conserving resources through innovative solutions and sustainable practices.

Significant reduction in CO2 and heating oil
By using district heating, several hundred thousand liters of heating oil can be saved annually, which in turn leads to a significant reduction in our CO2 emissions.

In order to increase energy efficiency and ensure sustainability, Fritz Studer AG is investing in the continuous modernization of its facilities and equipment. This includes_

• Energy-efficient processing machines: By investing in energy-efficient machines, energy consumption is reduced while production capacity is increased.
• Modern warehouse infrastructure: The upcoming major investment in a new warehouse infrastructure will enable even more efficient warehousing and contribute to energy savings.
• Renewal of the energy distribution systems: The modernization of the energy distribution systems will ensure a reliable and efficient energy supply that meets the latest standards. LED lighting in the production halls: A large proportion of the lighting in our production halls has already been replaced with modern LED lighting. This conversion has significantly reduced energy consumption. LED technology offers the advantage of a long service life, which minimizes maintenance costs and increases efficiency. We are continuously replacing the lighting throughout the site to benefit from these advantages across the board.

The VDMA's Blue Competence initiative actively promotes sustainability in mechanical and plant engineering. The aim of the initiative is to publicize sustainable solutions in the industry that support innovative energy concepts, efficient use of scarce resources and an improvement in the quality of life.

STUDER is a long-standing member of the Swiss Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Industries (SWISSMEM), which manufactures innovative products and technologies and thus makes an important contribution to sustainable business. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gases worldwide and to continuously optimize production processes in companies. In this way, they have already been able to reduce 55% of CO2 emissions since 1990 with their member companies.
